The Role:
We are looking to recruit 2 Lecturers in Carpentry at our Rainham Campus. One role is full time and the other is part time (0.6 FTE).
We seek dynamic industry professionals interested in transitioning into education, either full time or as a dual professional. Who You Are:
We are seeking an industry professional with excellent communication and organizational skills to join our teaching team. The ideal candidate will be highly flexible, capable of engaging and inspiring learners aged 16-19 in both practical and theoretical aspects of Carpentry. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences or a strong desire to develop these skills. Industry expertise in Carpentry is essential, along with a Level 3 qualification in the field. A solid understanding of current Carpentry practices is desirable.
Key Skills and Experience:
We are looking for passionate industry professionals to inspire the next generation of Carpentry experts. Candidates should have experience in delivering high-quality teaching or significant industry experience. Industry expertise and a Level 3 qualification in Carpentry are required; a current understanding of practices is essential. Teaching experience is desirable but not mandatory, as training and support will be provided. Candidates must be committed to obtaining a Level 5 Certificate in Education. An assessors qualification would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach and assess courses for learners aged 16-18 and adults, ranging from Level 1 to Level 3, including college-based qualifications and apprenticeships.
* Work effectively as part of a dynamic team, liaising with the Senior Curriculum Manager and colleagues.
* Engage in professional development related to your industry and teaching/assessing roles.
