Job Title: Assistant SENCo
Location: Crookhey Hall, Cockerham, LA2 0HA
Salary: £25,000 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
Start: September 2025

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Assistant SENCo to join our team at Crookhey Hall, Cockerham.
About The Role
The SENCO will ensure effective and efficient management of Special Education Needs provision, meeting all legal and statutory requirements for students needing SEN.
The SENCO will work within a small team responsible for providing professional guidance on SEN to teaching staff, maintaining high standards of teaching, and improving student outcomes.
Responsibilities include reviewing and leading EHCP meetings, liaising with teachers, multi-agency professionals, and senior leadership to ensure updated and shared outcomes.
Key Tasks
* Liaise with parents/carers about pupil’s needs and provisions
* Review and evaluate SEND support, collaborate with LA, and develop local offer
* Work with therapy teams, staff, and SLT to analyze SEN identification patterns and improve teaching quality
* Coordinate with external agencies to ensure appropriate provision
* Plan and lead EHCP review meetings and produce reports, ensuring compliance with SEND code of practice
* Ensure staff have current EHCPs and targets for pupils
