Overview
CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist role based at a hospital in the Charlwood, Surrey area, operated by a leading UK health care provider. The unit is a low and medium secure facility for male patients aged 18+ who are detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and require extended treatment and rehabilitation.
To be considered for this position you must hold a Full GMC Registration.
Responsibilities
* Review referrals and determine appropriateness for admission
* Conduct admission assessments and maintain effective management plans for all young people on the unit
* Conduct risk assessments and review regularly
* Allocate specialist psychological treatments in line with individual needs
* Assess physical health
* Ensure effective liaison with referring teams
* Facilitate regular CPA review meetings
* Act as Responsible Clinician for young people detained under the Mental Health Act
* Involve in quality, inspections and governance processes
Preferred Skills and Experience
* Experience of CAMHS Forensic and/or Eating Disorders desirable
* Relevant experience within a similar setting and working with adults aged 18+
* Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act
* Ability to work alongside and lead a multidisciplinary team
* In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation
* Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles
