We are currently recruiting an experienced and proactive Warehouse Supervisor to oversee operations within the Packing & Despatch Department for our client – a leading name in the food production industry.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a candidate with strong organisational skills, a good understanding of warehouse procedures, and experience working with chilled goods.
Key Objectives:
1. Coordinate the efficient operation of the warehouse
2. Ensure correct stock rotation and storage of both packed and raw products
3. Maintain proper storage temperatures and safe, organised warehouse layout
4. Despatch goods in a professional and timely manner to a high standard
5. Receive goods and conduct material checks, reporting issues as needed
6. Comply with and administer health & safety protocols, including accident and near-miss reporting
7. Ensure vehicle safety checks are carried out regularly
Specific Responsibilities:
8. Maintain cleanliness in the despatch cold store, removing waste and litter weekly
9. Keep cold store entrances and fire exits clear at all times
10. Liaise with the Grading & Quality Control Supervisor to manage materials
11. Monitor and maintain correct storage temperatures, including blast chilling where needed
12. Ensure all despatched goods are below 5ºC, unless authorised otherwise
13. Keep accurate stock records and provide updates as required
14. Act as a role model, maintaining a tidy, professional appearance and conduct
15. Operate the Forklift Truck safely and carry out regular safety checks, reporting any faults
16. Report damage or defects in the Cold Store to the Packing Manager
17. Prevent storage of packaging materials in the Cold Store area
18. Complete all paperwork, scanning, and admin tasks thoroughly and accurately
19. Organise vehicle operatives for efficient collections of materials and packaging
20. Maintain clean and organised packaging units
21. Book all incoming items accurately through paperwork and scanning systems
22. Oversee and complete monthly stock counts
What We're Looking For:
23. Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory role, ideally in food production or chilled environments
24. Strong understanding of stock rotation, temperature control, and despatch procedures
25. Confident with forklift operation and warehouse equipment
26. Excellent communication and organisational skills
27. Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations
28. Able to lead by example and manage a small team effectively
