Excellent opportunity for an experienced Web Developer with strong PHP and Laravel skills to join a growing and supportive development team, working on a wide range of web applications that power core business operations. This organisation is a creative and innovative digital solutions provider with a reputation for delivering high-quality, bespoke applications to a loyal client base. Following new investment and ownership, the business is growing steadily post-Covid and offers a collaborative environment where your contributions will directly influence future success. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising web applications using PHP, Laravel, and MySQL. You'll collaborate with colleagues and clients to scope, design, and deliver new features, while also ensuring existing systems remain performant, secure, and scalable. The role follows a hybrid working pattern, with Mondays and Fridays from home, and Tuesday to Thursday office-based.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in PHP and Laravel, a solid grounding in MySQL database design and optimisation, and a good understanding of modern web development practices. Experience with cloud technologies, containerisation, or JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or React would be highly advantageous. Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using PHP, Laravel, and MySQL
* Optimise applications for performance, security, and scalability
* Collaborate with colleagues and clients to plan and deliver new features
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full stack
* Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices
Qualifications
* 3+ years' experience as a Web Developer or Software Engineer
* Proficient in PHP (7/8) with strong Laravel framework experience
* Strong knowledge of MySQL, database design, and optimisation
* Familiar with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive front-end development
* Experience with Git version control and API integration
* Able to pass a DBS check during probation due to client base working with
