Job responsibilities include providing specialist procurement knowledge across various commodity areas. The role involves managing the purchase of goods through complex, high-value contracts, and developing innovative methods to maximize cash benefits. Responsibilities also include producing European Union advertisements, tender, and contract documentation, negotiating with suppliers and departments to ensure value for money, and maintaining strong partnerships.
Work closely with user departments to ensure accurate specifications and criteria for goods and services. Offer commercial and contractual advice to CSCs, supervise and manage a Procurement Specialist, and deputize for the Procurement Manager when needed.
Support tender adjudication meetings, contribute to the procurement work plan, identify savings opportunities, and lead new contracting initiatives. Research commodities and markets during tender processes, prepare evaluation sheets, and utilize the Atamis E Tendering Solution effectively. Use Excel for database management and support policy development across the Trust.
Act as a Procurement Champion in a specialist area, maintain the team's work plan and database, participate in staff training, and advise on best value rates. Lead income generation projects, including equipment disposals and capital projects, and promote continuous improvement within the team.
