Job Title: Biology Teacher – Secondary School
Location: Birmingham
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
-----------------------------------
Ready to bring Biology to life in a classroom that’s actually set up for success?
We’re working with a friendly, mainstream secondary school in Birmingham that’s looking for a Biology Teacher to join them ASAP. This is a full-time, long-term role, ideal if you’re after something stable where you can build relationships and really settle in.
If you love those “lightbulb moments” when students finally get it, you’ll feel right at home here.
-----------------------------------
What’s the school like?
It’s the kind of place where you’re supported from day one, not left to figure things out solo.
* Supportive SLT who understand the realities of teaching
* A collaborative Science department with shared planning and resources
* Clear behaviour systems, so you can focus on teaching
* Students who respond well to engaging, consistent lessons
-----------------------------------
What you’ll be doing:
* Teaching Biology across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 available if that’s your thing)
* Delivering engaging lessons that make complex topics easy to grasp
* Encouraging curiosity, discussion, and confidence in the classroom
* Creating a positive, structured learning environment
* Marking and assessment in line with school expectations
-----------------------------------
What we’re looking for:
* UK QTS or equivalent
* Experience teaching Biology in a secondary setting
* Strong classroom presence and behaviour management
* Someone who can hit the ground running and build rapport quickly
* A teacher who can turn cells, systems, and ecosystems into something students actually enjoy
-----------------------------------
Why this role stands out:
This isn’t a short-term patch-up job. It’s a chance to step into a well-run school, feel supported, and stay long-term if it’s the right fit.
Perfect for experienced teachers wanting consistency, or ECTs looking for a school where they’ll be guided and backed.
