As Shift Leader, you will work with the Branch Leadership Team and colleagues to support the Area Manager in ensuring that your branch is Health, Safe, and Legal at all times, maximising efficiency, availability, and delivering great service to our customers.
This is a fast-moving, challenging role that offers great exposure to our vibrant customer base, allowing you to influence the service we provide.

Your responsibilities include:
1. Opening, closing, and managing the complete operational running of the branch, making decisions for the health and safety of our customers and colleagues, and taking the lead in the absence of the Area Manager.
2. Supporting a Health, Safe, and Legal culture by ensuring all colleagues are informed of any H&S and Security updates.
3. Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe environment in the branch.
4. Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and mandatory training.
5. Leading by example, role modelling the Code of Business Conduct and Win Together Behaviours.
6. Lived PRIDE in the branch, focusing on delivering great availability and service.
7. Supporting colleagues during induction and training.
8. Building and maintaining good working relationships internally and externally.
9. Championing Diversity and Inclusion, ensuring Everyone Is Welcome at Booker.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
1. Excellent communication skills, with experience in supervising or managing a team.
2. A proven track record of coaching, motivating, guiding a team, and holding people accountable for delivering great service.
3. Flexibility, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills.
4. Practical experience in the retail/wholesale trade.
