This large manufacturing organisation designs and manufactures products with tight tolerances and exports internationally. They maintain strict engineering standards to ensure safety and operate across four main UK sites, with additional locations in Europe and the US. The company has an annual turnover exceeding £4 billion and a strong order book of £18 billion, enabling sustained operations for approximately five years even without new orders.
The Job
This role as Finance Manager will lead the business partnering team, providing financial expertise and guidance to the Manufacturing function to meet its objectives. It is a hands-on role involving detailed work, supporting production phases, electrical manufacturing, engineering, and all commercial finance aspects such as budgeting, forecasting, business planning, bids, tenders, costings, investments, and continuous improvement initiatives. The organisation is implementing SAP 4/HANA, and you will lead support for this system within your department.
You will act as Deputy to the UK Head of Manufacturing Finance and line manager for the UK Manufacturing Finance team.
You will:
* Provide financial expertise to operational staff, delivering management information
* Serve as the finance point of contact for project activities
* Control investment plans for manufacturing capabilities and facilities
* Complete monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
* Support SAP 4/HANA implementation for manufacturing processes
* Represent manufacturing in continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
* Qualified accountant with experience in large manufacturing environments
* Experience with SAP and Manufacturing Execution Systems is advantageous
* Knowledge of manufacturing performance metrics
* Willingness to travel within the UK and Europe as needed
* Proven team management and development experience in manufacturing
This role offers up to £75,000 basic salary, with a bonus potential of up to 27%, averaging over 20% in recent years.
