Technical Support Analyst – Cancer Research UK (CRUK)
Location: Cambridge, UK – Babraham Research Campus. Minimum 2 days on‑site required; occasional travel to other UK sites.
Contract: Permanent, Full time (35 hours per week) – Reports to: Head of IS.
Salary: £27,000 – £32,000 plus benefits. Closing date: 13 November 2025 23:55 (may close earlier).
Visa sponsorship: Must be eligible to work in the UK. CRUK does not offer visa sponsorship.
Recruitment process: Team competency‑based interview followed by an in‑person interview at Cambridge Babraham Research Campus.
Interview dates: W/C 1st December for 1st stage, 10–12 December for 2nd stage.
What will I be doing?
* Provide first‑ and second‑line support for office and laboratory computing, including desktops, laptops, conferencing solutions, and specialist scientific applications and hardware.
* Support and configure laptop & desktop devices and applications (including specialist scientific applications).
* Integrate scientific hardware and software into the current infrastructure, adhering to security policies.
* Provide high‑level customer service to all users, maintaining a professional service and approach.
* Maintain printers and liaise with engineers where appropriate.
* Manage new‑starter administration and onboarding, including collection and delivery of laptops.
* Create and manage Office 365 resources (calendars, resources, distribution groups).
What are you looking for?
* Substantial experience with Windows Desktop OS, Office 365 (including Teams and OneDrive).
* Problem‑solving and analytical skills with proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, both hardware and software.
* Experience with MS Exchange administration.
* Excellent teamwork skills – collaborative problem‑solving.
* Strong communication skills – building relationships with IT team, end‑users and third‑party vendors.
* Ability to work independently, self‑motivated, with excellent organization and workload management.
* Ability to prioritize tasks with attention to detail.
* Experience with installation and troubleshooting of applications beneficial.
