An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated
Accountant
to join our client's finance team.
This role will provide vital support to senior finance leadership and play a key part in ensuring accurate reporting, effective controls, and compliance with statutory requirements.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively across the business.
What You'll Do:
* Prepare statutory accounts and manage the year-end audit process with external auditors
* Produce high-quality management accounts with timely reconciliations and analysis
* Deliver accurate VAT returns, corporation tax submissions, and statutory filings
* Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee monthly close processes
* Advise colleagues and stakeholders on accounting matters and financial policies
* Lead on capital expenditure appraisals and provide governance on investment proposals
* Support internal audits and ensure group reporting standards are met
* Play a key role in finance systems development, including ERP implementation projects
* Strengthen internal control processes and highlight areas of financial risk
Key skills and experience required:
* Part-qualified or finalist - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
* Background in practice or industry, with experience in a similar role
* Advanced Excel skills and confident working with complex financial data
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities independently
* Excellent communicator with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the business
