About Us
Located in Stevenage (SG2 8SH), this home offers care for men aged 18 and older, with enduring mental health conditions and addiction and often a forensic history who require psychiatric after-care and rehabilitation.
Many of our residents join us from other mental health services, be it in-patient or residential care homes, and so all our staff are experienced in looking after those with complex mental health needs and addiction but also play a huge role in nurturing and encouraging each service user to gain independent life skills – such a learning to self-medicate, cook and manage money and general self-care – helping each individual to develop a positive outlook on life.
Winnett Cottage adopts a person-centred care approach. Our team work alongside the residents and the multi-disciplinary teams to support them to identify their individual goals and aspirations. Each resident is assisted to complete a clearly defined plan to help them achieve these.
