Key Requirements
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
* Entry on the Specialist Register or anticipated receipt of CCT/Professional Portfolio (CESR) within six months of interview.
* Sub‑specialty training in stroke medicine is encouraged.
* Clear evidence of meeting these criteria in your application.
Role Overview
You will join a committed, well‑integrated multidisciplinary team to provide high‑standard care to the local community. This full‑time substantive post may involve more than 10 Programmed Activities, subject to negotiation.
Clinical Responsibilities
* Provide acute medical and rehabilitation care within the Combined Stroke Unit.
* Deliver care in the TIA Clinic and undertake Out‑Patient Clinics.
* Lead and liaise with Stroke Consultants, Care of the Elderly Team, General Medicine colleagues, Neuroradiology, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, Stroke Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Matrons, Ward Managers, Nurses, Therapists and Secretaries.
* Participate in the Royal Lancaster Infirmary acute thrombolysis service and, when required, thrombectomy at Royal Preston Hospital.
* Join the general medicine on‑call rota, the Telestroke on‑call rota, or both.
* Allocate time for SPA and clinical administration work.
* Support the continued development of the Stroke Service, including a combined Acute and Rehabilitation Stroke Unit opened in December 2019.
* Contribute to the TIA Service.
Leadership & Development Opportunities
* Opportunity to become Clinical Lead for the Stroke Service, with additional remuneration and PA allowance.
* Commitment to teaching, education, and audit; active role in progressing knowledge and skills of junior colleagues and medical students from Lancaster Medical School.

The Trust's Hospitals are situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, offering superb outdoor and recreational activities. Cities such as Liverpool and Manchester are a short train or car journey away.
