Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering & Design Capability
Hybrid working (2-3 days per week on-site)
Are you passionate about advancing systems engineering practices and shaping the way complex projects are delivered? We're looking for a Principal Engineer to join our Process and Methods team, helping projects use and evolve cutting-edge engineering methods, tools, and processes.
The role
As a Principal Engineer in Systems Engineering & Design Capability, you will:
1. Support projects in adopting and applying state-of-the-art systems engineering processes and tools
2. Provide consultancy-style guidance, training, and tailored support to ensure best practice adoption
3. Drive process improvement, efficiency, and consistency across teams
4. Implement and champion Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts in live projects
5. Ensure a full-lifecycle approach is embedded in system design and development
6. Keep up-to-date with technical advancements and continuously develop your expertise
What we're looking for
7. Strong background in systems engineering with lifecycle experience on complex projects
8. Knowledge of MBSE and modern systems engineering methods
9. Experience representing mechanical, electrical, software, ILS, human factors, or control/analysis areas in architectures
10. Proactive, autonomous, and capable of managing multiple priorities
11. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
12. Relevant degree (or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience
