We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Health Care Support Worker to join our team on Ward 11. You will be responsible for providing both clinical and non-clinical support to ensure high-quality patient care and assist the nursing team in delivering day-to-day care.

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Health Care Support Worker to join our team on Ward 11. You will be responsible for providing both clinical and non-clinical support to ensure high-quality patient care and assist the nursing team in delivering day-to-day care.

This post is for shift work, including weekdays, nights and weekends.

Main duties of the job


* Support the team with the delivery of high-quality care to all patients during their stay.
* Liaise promptly and with the nurse in charge any concerns with regards to patients’ wellbeing.
* Assist patients with their nutritional requirements.
* Maintain clear and accurate documentation under supervision of a registered nurse, raising issues of concern with a qualified nurse where appropriate.

This vacancy is linked with the opportunity for Apprenticeship (for those eligible for Apprenticeships). This will support you to gain relevant knowledge, skills and experience that will help you achieve your potential in this role. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a national recognised qualification while you are working and earning, which will support you in both this role and in your future career at Frimley Health. You will not be required to undertake an apprenticeship if you have previously completed a relevant apprenticeship, NVQ or similar Healthcare qualification or you are.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

* Evidence of general education e.g. which includes English and Maths GCSE’s or functional skills Level 2 or equivalent.
* Willingness to work towards and complete the Healthcare Support Worker Level 2 apprenticeship

Desirable criteria

* Knowledge of personal care and related procedures
* Vocational qualification at level 2 or equivalent relevant experience

Experience

Essential criteria

* Previous work experience which includes team working, communicating with staff and colleagues, and understanding of work practices.

Desirable criteria

* Experience of working in a health care environment.
* Experience of dealing with the public.

* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
* Ability to learn new skills.
* Knowledge of how to respect individuality and diversity of patients, their carers, and your colleagues.

* Good basic hygiene skills (e.g., food handling, hand washing etc.)
