Join to apply for the Fire Engineers role at WSP.
As a fire engineer, you’ll typically be working on a variety of projects at once from a University in Scotland to a high-rise residential tower in London, with plenty of international projects. All with the same goal of enabling innovative architectural design without compromising on the fire safety of the building.
Responsibilities
* Run through design information, liaising with other WSP disciplines such as Facades, Acoustics and Structures, presenting designs to local authorities and the Fire Service, and helping inform the design team about changes to increase the safety of the building.
* Work through a variety of software packages and fire standards, participate in team briefings and client updates from the start.
* Be supported through a development programme to grow professional skills and specialist technical development opportunities, with guidance from the senior leadership team.
* Assist the successful candidate toward professional registration via IFE and other professional organisations.
* Participate in a structured programme that includes training in technical report writing, team skills, project management (intro and advanced), influential communications, commercial concepts, collaborative teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Experience in the fire engineering consulting industry.
* Role based from any of our UK major offices.
