Description
At AXA Health, we’re transforming the way we deliver value to our customers through a progressive, outcome-driven product operating model. A key enabler for our transformation, you’ll balance strategic oversight with hands on people management. If you love line management and are looking for personal development opportunities, this could be the role for you.
You’ll be responsible for leading a team of PMO (Project Management Office) professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement and collaboration. Examples include challenging ourselves to positively improve one thing about our ways of working every month and establishing team collaboration days to increase knowledge and skills sharing for everyone. With a focus on portfolio management, you’ll provide clear visibility of priorities, risks and delivery progress across product areas, enabling informed decision-making at all levels. Working closely with senior stakeholders, product leads and delivery teams, you’ll ensure governance frameworks are fit for purpose and evolve with our operating model.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at Tunbridge Wells office or attending industry events. Occasional travel to AXA offices in London and Bournemouth.
We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
What you’ll be doing:
* Provide supportive line management, coaching and development for your team of PMO professionals, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, empowerment and high performance.
* Maintain an accurate, high-level view of change and transformation portfolio across product areas, enabling prioritisation, progress tracking and value realisation.
* Design, embed and incrementally improve governance structures that balance control with agility, ensuring they support AXA Health’s product-centric approach.
* Partner with and productively challenge senior leaders and product teams to align portfolio activity with business strategy, ensuring the right initiatives are being pursued at the right time.
* Develop and maintain clear, actionable reporting and insights on progress, risk, dependencies and outcomes to support executive-level decision making.
* Embed structured change management principles and practices that help teams adopt new ways of working and realise benefits from transformation efforts.
* Ensure that Enterprise level risks associated to transformation and change initiatives are clearly identified, assessed, escalated and mitigated in line with AXA’s risk appetite and frameworks.
* Define and promote consistent PMO standards, tools and templates that support high-quality planning, risk management and tracking across teams.
