Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Relief Chef Manager to oversee operations in one of our School meal kitchens during the absence of the regular manager. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a background in food production, ensuring that all aspects of the kitchen and service areas run smoothly. This role requires a hands-on approach to team management, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hospitality. This is a term time only position
Duties
* Supervise daily operations in the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring efficiency and quality service.
* Manage and lead a team of kitchen staff, providing guidance and support .
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and organisation throughout the kitchen.
* To ensure optimal stock levels.
Requirements
* Strong background in food production and preparation techniques.
* Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within the kitchen setting.
* Previous experience in cooking is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with kitchen operations, including serving protocols and customer service standards.
* Excellent leadership qualities with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.

The role:
* £14.50 per hour
* 30 hours per week working Monday – Friday (hours vary daily but between (8am and 2pm)
* Term-time only
Your key responsibilities will include:
* To prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by Cleverchefs
* To ensure that the location meets statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislations and procedures
* To ensure that the company's reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers and expectations are consistently exceeded
* To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the location in the Chef Managers absence
