R&M is a service area within Coventry City Council providing repair and maintenance services to Coventry City's operational, commercial, and school portfolio. We have a dedicated team with over 30 years of experience in emergency and responsive repairs, planned preventative maintenance, and property improvements and refurbishments.
The R&M team is multi-disciplined, offering building works, refurbishments, general maintenance, gas servicing, installations, electrical works, and a 24/7 emergency call-out service across all trades.

What is the job role?
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team. You will provide site-based, practical solutions to various building services customer needs, including planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and minor works. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will ensure all tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Main duties include:
* Carrying out all work in compliance with industry standards, British standards, and relevant Approved Codes of Practice.
* Performing planned maintenance and reactive repairs efficiently within target timescales.
* Installing new heating systems and improvements.
* Ensuring all work issued is completed by the due date, reporting any exceptions, and liaising with customers.
* Work may be in various sectors, including schools, residential, and commercial properties.
Who are we looking for?
You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to understand written instructions. Experience in reactive repair gas/combustion environments is beneficial.
A full UK driving license and recognized qualifications are essential.
Qualifications and experience required include:
* Approved City and Guilds/CITB/ACS qualifications in Domestic and Commercial aspects.
* Commercial Gas/Safety qualifications.
* Experience with unvented hot water systems.
* Knowledge of water hygiene/legionella regulations.
We offer:
* Salary up to £44,711 per annum.
* Stand-by allowance - £30 per shift, 9 shifts per week (2 per day Sat/Sun).
* Out of hours call-out rate - minimum 2 hours per call at a flat rate, with time and a half thereafter.
* Tool allowance - £36.37 per month.
* Van with home-to-work use & fuel card.
