We’re looking for
a Transport Supervisor to support our Tesco contract in Widnes. Working on a 4 on 4 off Night shift, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Transport Manager in the overall running of a safe, efficient, and cost-effective transport operation.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
1. Support the Transport function of the Distribution Centre, reporting to the Operations Manager
2. Ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out accurately and professionally
3. Assist the Operations Manager with fleet or driver duties as required
4. Oversee and direct clerks on your shift, ensuring defect, pre-brief, and de-brief processes are followed
5. Investigate vehicle accidents and escalate details to line management
6. Complete investigations within 10 days and escalate as needed
7. Oversee, conduct, and distribute the VOR report for your shift
8. Monitor driver performance and compliance, including Tachomaster reporting and driver scoring
9. Ensure vehicle compliance via Tachomaster, Trailermaster, and R2C
10. Complete customer or XPO KPIs as required
11. Coordinate with shunters to ensure assets are back in service
12. Work with VMU and vendors to maintain fleet servicing and compliance
13. Manage fleet stand-downs in line with servicing and VOR requirements
14. Complete driver DCRS with assigned drivers
15. Manage driver absences according to the Absence Management Policy
16. Ensure HR tasks are completed timely and accurately
What you need to succeed at XPO:
* Proven experience as a Transport Supervisor or Shift Manager in a fast-paced distribution environment
* Good knowledge of Microlise, Tachomaster, and R2C systems
* At least 2 years’ experience with increasing responsibility in Operations or Planning
* Strong planning and problem-solving skills
* Transport management CPC is beneficial but not essential
* Excellent understanding of transport compliance
* Leadership skills to motivate and inspire your team towards continuous improvement
