Kyonet are seeking a 1st Line IT Support Technician

What you'll be doing

This role involves supporting one of our clients from their location in Stamford, working within a small team of internal technicians and the wider team in Corby by providing excellent levels of technical support to our client. A large portion of the role will involve providing technical support to our client directly with them at both their new site due to be live this year in Peterborough and Stamford head office.

Additionally, you will work on occasion to support senior technicians in carrying out project work, installations, and scheduled maintenance on customer systems.

Due to the nature of the role, a full driving license with your own transport is required and some out-of-hours work/support may be necessary, including weekends and cover as needed. Travel to our clients head office, Kyonet office in Corby and Peterborough is required.

Your role will include…

* Answering all calls promptly, politely, calmly, and professionally.
* Providing users with a high level of 1st line support.
* Maintaining customer expectations and escalating issues when necessary to the Kyonet support desk.
* Coordinating the effective resolution of problems to ensure service delivery and implementing solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
* Investigating and diagnosing IT faults and problems, including hardware and software issues, PC systems, and network equipment.
* Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) for daily / weekly recurring tasks.
* Working with the clients internal teams to maximise the technology use to drive efficiencies within their business.
* Spend time with the larger team at the Kyonet head office on occasions to undertake training, meeting and exposure to our working style.

What we need from you

To be successful in this role, you will need to be creative and driven. The ability to work independently and be proactive in your approach is essential.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

* Experience with Microsoft Operating System installation and support.
* Experience in providing support in a networked environment.
* Experience in Windows Server Administration, including Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
* Basic knowledge of Hyper-V virtualization technology.
* An understanding of data backup principles.
* Training or experience using Microsoft Office 365

Desirable

* Training or experience using Sophos Products
* Training or experience with Cisco Meraki Products
* Training or experience with VMWare ESXi clusters
* Knowledge of networking technologies and troubleshooting (IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs and switching

Education and training

Essential

* Full UK Driving License

Desirable

* Microsoft Certifications.
* CompTIA certifications.

* Ability to work in a confidential environment and understanding of its importance.
* Willingness to learn new skills and apply them accurately.
* Strong administration skills with an eye for detail.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
