Your primary role is to ensure projects remain contractually viable, profitable, and compliant with both legal and safety standards.
Role Purpose
The Contracts Manager acts as a central point of control, bridging the gap between legal, financial, and site operations teams. You will be responsible for managing risk, protecting profit margins, and ensuring that all parties including subcontractors and clients honour their obligations.
Key Responsibilities
* Contractual Oversight: Draft, review, and negotiate terms for client agreements, supplier contracts, and subcontractor packages.
* Financial Control: Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and Cost Valuation Reports (CVRs) to ensure commercial viability and maximize revenue from variations.
* Compliance & Risk: Identify and mitigate contractual risks, such as ambiguities or potential breaches, and ensure adherence to energy sector regulations like FERC or NAESB where applicable.
* Project Delivery Support: Work with project managers and quantity surveyors to manage site performance, attend site meetings, and resolve disputes before they escalate.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Manage high-profile client relationships and serve as the primary technical and commercial liaison on-site.
Essential Requirements & Qualifications
* Education: A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or Law is typically required.
* Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in contract management, preferably within the energy or large-scale infrastructure sectors.
* Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with standard construction forms like NEC or JCT, and specifically energy-related infrastructure (e.g., HV/MV substations, solar/storage projects).
* Experience of working with government facing projects would be an advantage.
