Job Title: Housing Management & Compliance Coordinator
Reports to: Youth Services Manager
Salary: Scale 6, Points 26-28, £26,229 - £27,982 per annum, pro rata
Hours of work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Fixed Term Contract: 12 months
Key Responsibilities:
1. Enable young people to sustain their tenancy and take responsibility for their property.
2. Empower young people to report repairs and maintain cleanliness of their property.
3. Assist young people in maximizing and retaining their income.
4. Ensure voids meet lettable standards before letting, including cleaning and repairs.
5. Help young people pay their rent and service charges.
6. Assist with debt management or refer to specialist agencies as needed.
7. Prepare weekly reports on arrears and actions taken.
8. Safeguard the welfare of young people.
9. Record rent and payments in line with financial procedures.
10. Inform support staff of any needs or concerns for young people.
11. Assist with benefit claims, including form completion and calls.
12. Arrange and conduct admission visits and inductions for new residents.
13. Support young people in maintaining their accommodation.
14. Perform administrative tasks such as recording payments and health & safety inspections.
15. Participate in initiatives to support young people and organization income.
16. Work with support staff on tenancy breaches according to procedures.
17. Be flexible with out-of-hours availability, including on-call duties and emergency cover.
Leading the Team:
1. Contribute to a cohesive and effective team environment.
2. Assist in induction, supervision, and performance management of staff and volunteers.
3. Provide cover for colleagues and participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and anti-social hours.
4. Lead and participate in team meetings.
5. Advise management on concerns, changes, or additional services.
6. Deputise for the Youth Services Manager when appropriate.
7. Monitor service delivery, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
8. Support colleagues with respectful teamwork and communication.
Qualifications:
Essential:
* Housing Management qualification
* NVQ 4 Advice & Guidance, Care, or equivalent, or working towards Youth Work, Social Work, or equivalent
Role Experience:
Essential:
* Experience working with young people in youth work, residential, social work, probation, community work, education, training, or housing settings.
Desirable:
* Experience working with volunteers or students.
