Job Title: Welding Inspector
Location: Dundee
Salary: £35,000 - £39,000
Our Dundee based client are currently looking for a Welding Inspector who will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of their welding operations. They are seeking an experienced professional with a CSWIP 3.1 certification to uphold our client’s commitment to excellence in welding standards and safety.
Responsibilities:
Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance with specified standards and procedures.
Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and dye penetrant testing as required.
Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, maintaining detailed records of weld quality and any deviations from standards.
Collaborate with welding personnel and engineers to address any quality concerns or issues that arise during fabrication.
Verify welder qualifications and ensure that all welding procedures are properly followed.
Assist in the development and implementation of welding procedures and quality control measures.
Provide guidance and support to welders and other team members on proper welding techniques and best practices.
Stay current with industry standards and advancements in welding technology.
Requirements:
CSWIP 3.1 certification is mandatory.
Proven experience as a welding inspector, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
Strong knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and materials.
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, and API.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and welding symbols.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects or irregularities in welds.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to perform inspections in various work environments, including climbing, bending, and lifting
