What if your job was to break things… on purpose?
Sound good? Thought so.
We’re working with a cutting edge testing facility in Banbury that’s all about one thing: putting materials through their paces to make sure they’re safe, strong, and ready for the real world.
This is the place where metal meets muscle. Where parts get pushed, pulled, bent, twisted, crushed, and stretched until they fail. And that’s exactly the point. Because before anything ends up in an aircraft, power plant, or performance vehicle, it needs to be tested. And that’s where you come in.
What you’ll actually be doing
Getting hands on with machines and kit, setting up test rigs for all sorts of materials
Running stress, tensile, fatigue, compression and creep tests (don't worry if you’re not familiar, they’ll train you)
Carefully recording results that go into formal safety certificates
Following processes where every detail counts, accuracy here really is life and death
Working with a friendly bunch of engineers and technicians who’ll show you the ropes and keep things collaborative
You’ll fit in if you’re…
Curious by nature. Someone who wants to understand why things do what they do
Comfortable with tools, machines or hands on work
Obsessed with getting things right. This role needs a sharp eye for detail
Looking for a long term career, not just another job. There’s a clear path from Level 1 to Level 3 with pay rises and new responsibilities built in
Perks & Culture
Breakfast club
Company days out
Cycle to work scheme
Pension and death in service cover
23 days holiday + bank holidays (and it goes up with service)
A no nonsense, supportive team culture that values it’s people
Is it technical? Yes. Is it fun? Also yes.
There’s a lot to learn here, and if you’re the kind of person who likes asking “what happens if…”, you’ll thrive. Whether you’ve got a BTEC in Engineering, experience working in a lab or factory, or just a passion for understanding how stuff works, we want to hear from you.
