The Radiology department is well-equipped, having two 128 slice Siemens CT scanners, two 1.5T Siemens MRI scanners, digital screening rooms and updated US machines. Works are currently underway to install a new Cardiac CT scanner and a SPECT CT. We also employ regular on-site CT and MRI vans/static scanners for additional workload.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Clinical Specialist Radiographer to oversee the day-to-day operation of the CT service alongside the CT Superintendent. The successful candidate will have extensive clinical knowledge and skills of CT, together with a commitment to support the team in providing the highest standards of service. They will be confident in taking responsibility and making decisions in matters relating to staff, patients and the service.

Main duties of the job
To undertake the clinical specialist role in CT Scanning is being recognised as a highly specialised, advanced practitioner able to perform a large array of complex CT procedures working closely with the CT Superintendent Radiographer leading the radiographers and radiology support workers in the day-to-day running of the CT service, managing the In-patient bookings and waiting list.
Ensuring the CT service is maintained with training of staff to perform in accordance with Trusts policy including comprehensive competency assessments and patient flow is maximised and the resource is used efficiently and effectively.
Management of CT protocols is a key aspect of the role, including adopting new protocols and techniques. The post holder will need to work closely with each sub-specialty consultant radiologist and the modality superintendent to plan and implement any protocol changes or developments required as new imaging techniques are introduced into the department.
In conjunction with the CT Superintendent Radiographer, promote continuous improvements in service delivery and quality within all areas of the CT service, using modern methods to improve productivity, leading in the delivery of service and workforce transformation, and re-design.
The post holder will help manage the work of staff in the department and develop a culture in which members of staff are continuously improving the delivery of high-quality services.
