Job Summary
Imagine a large tree has fallen on a child and they are trapped, screaming and helpless. Do you have the ability to stay calm when those around you are lost in crisis? As an ambulance Emergency Call Taker at SCAS you could be the last voice someone hears and the first to help new parents welcome their children to the world.
Main Duties
As an ambulance Emergency Call Taker in Otterbourne you will be the last voice that someone hears, as well as the first. You will need a good listening ear, attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to use your voice to control a situation. Your words will lead a caller to calm from afar, whilst you arrange the appropriate help for them. You do not need a medical background, just a desire to help. You’ll need to be detailed, efficient, assertive but compassionate, and you will take care of yourself and your team around you.
