The Growth Companys (GC) Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub along with Green Economy is recruiting two Green Technology and service sector Consultants to provide expert business growth support to a portfolio of ambitious mid-sized companies operating in the low carbon goods and services sector. Working closely with business owners and senior managers, the consultants will assess growth potential, identify barriers and opportunities, and co-develop tailored action plans that unlock opportunities and drive sustainable growth. Please note, there are two positions available at various levels. Key Responsibilities: Manage client enquiries via phone and email, assess growth potential, and build strong client relationships. Conduct initial eligibility checks to ensure clients meet project criteria before formal assessment and planning. Deliver in-depth diagnostics and tailored growth action plans using business tools and market intelligence. Manage a portfolio of up to 30 clients and understand the impact our support is having on their growth and competitiveness. Connect clients with relevant internal and external services, and monitor delivery to support growth objectives. Track and report project outputs and impact data throughout and at project completion, meeting funder requirements. Maintain accurate CRM records of client interactions, referrals, and progress against agreed action plans. Monitor business outcomes such as job creation, GVA increases, and other service-specific performance indicators. Experience: Degree-level business education or equivalent experience with professional management qualifications. Proven success managing complex business challenges during growth phases and transitions. Strong team collaboration skills and experience delivering business assessments, advice, and development support. Skilled in facilitating workshops, cohort programmes, and peer network initiatives to drive business improvement. Proficient in sales, account management, and stakeholder engagement with excellent written and verbal presentation skills. Highly organised with strong planning, administrative, and project management capabilities. Advanced IT proficiency, including CRM systems, spreadsheets, email platforms, and management information tools. About You: Proven experience in project management and technical expertise across key business areas. Strong grasp of current and emerging issues within the Low Carbon and Environmental Goods and Services (LCEGS) sector. In-depth knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and growth dynamics affecting the LCEGS industry. Familiar with national, regional, and local organisations driving economic development and business growth. Proficient in applying business tools (e.g., business model canvas, value proposition, orbit strategy) and delivering related workshops. Collaborative team player with a proactive, customer-focused approach to business engagement and growth sprint delivery.
