We’re working with a fantastic secondary school in Newcastle that’s home to a specialist SEMH provision—and they’re looking for someone brilliant to join their team.
This full-time role (Monday to Friday) is all about providing the right mix of learning and pastoral support to a small group of pupils who access the SEMH base. You’ll be supporting them in the classroom, helping them stay engaged with learning, and playing a key part in their wider emotional and social development.
The ideal candidate will be calm under pressure, great at building trust, and confident supporting young people with social, emotional, or behavioural needs.
What you’ll be doing:
* Working within the SEMH provision of a secondary school
* Supporting a small group of pupils throughout the school day
* Providing in-class learning support
* Delivering pastoral care and managing behaviour positively
* Being a reliable, caring presence for pupils who need consistency

* Experience working with young people with SEMH or behaviour needs
* A patient, confident, and nurturing approach
* Great communication skills and resilience
* A team player with a big heart and a steady head
