Overview
EY Capital & Debt Advisory is seeking an Associate Director to join its market‑leading corporate debt advisory team to support deal execution and deal origination. The team is award‑winning, recently named Global Capital Debt Advisor of the year for 2026, and has a strong reputation for closing high‑profile transactions. It advises sovereign, corporate, private equity, not‑for‑profit, and entrepreneurial clients on debt‑related matters, including refinancings, acquisition‑related financings, leveraged transactions, finance raisings, and amendments. The role is specifically to work on the corporate side, primarily with non‑private‑equity backed businesses on all aspects of their debt financing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
We would like to meet candidates for an Associate Director role as we look to strengthen our corporate Debt Advisory team and to grow the execution and origination capabilities in line with the increased levels of activity we are seeing in the market.
Debt Advisory Associate Directors play a key role in the team and advise on a wide variety of transactions, interacting with clients and other professionals such as lenders and lawyers, overseeing/managing the transactions on a day‑to‑day basis.
* Managing and working as part of a team on projects from start to finish covering all transaction stages from initial proposal right through to completion.
* Acting as the main point of contact for clients and all stakeholders during a transaction process on day‑to‑day matters.
* Overseeing the work of project teams and coordinating various work streams, liaising with and managing various stakeholders on transactions.
* Leading and managing the delivery of high‑quality transaction documentation, including the preparation of information packs, management presentations, term sheets, structuring and financial analysis, and other project deliverables.
* LBO modeling, including analysing business forecasts, undertaking and evaluating scenario analysis, building financing overlays and covenant calculations.
* Supporting business development initiatives, including the production of high‑quality collateral, developing pitch documents, and attending meetings with clients and prospects.
* Coaching and contributing to the development of more junior team members.
* Further developing your own business network.

Qualifications and Experience
* Significant experience in debt advisory, including playing a lead role in day‑to‑day management of projects (information packs, presentations, analyses, term sheets, client communication).
* Strong experience with financial modeling related to debt transactions.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, developing close working relationships with clients, lenders and other advisors.
* Assisting partners and senior members with targeting, marketing and preparation of proposal materials, as well as client coverage.
* Proactively building and developing a network of internal and external relationships among professional intermediaries, private equity houses, corporate targets and clients.
* Experience and understanding of different debt markets, capabilities to articulate conventions and challenge them to develop tailored solutions.
* Demonstrate confidence in client situations, gain client acceptance and demonstrate value through advice and insight, providing bespoke solutions.
* Sound commercial judgement and ability to generate creative solutions to problems and think on your feet.
* Strong financial acumen and a solid understanding of financial statements.
* Agility to convert analysis into various outputs, including those used to support board‑level conversations, presenting results clearly.
* Ability to manage and develop more junior team members.
* Strong time management skills, including informing the team of progress and highlighting issues.
* Extensive experience working in debt advisory, banking or a related field, operating in a deal‑related environment.
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
* Proven team player and ability to build effective working relationships with individuals, organisations and clients.
* Ability to manage tight deadlines.

* Accounting / finance qualification or similar.
* Ability to learn quickly and keep abreast of developments.
