If you can demonstrate experience working with babies, children, young people and/or adults with long term ventilation needs and are passionate about providing a high standard of nursing care in a family led environment, we would like to hear from you!
Here at Rainbows Hospice, we support the hospital to home transition for medically stable children & young people requiring long term ventilation, who might otherwise need to remain on an intensive or high dependency care area through our Long-Term Ventilation and Step-Down Team.
Rainbows Hospice is seeking a Band 6 Nurse to join our Long-Term Ventilation and Step-Down Team, providing 1-2-1 care for children and young people with complex needs including long term ventilation via tracheostomy or face mask/nasal cannula. You will work within a multidisciplinary team including Music Therapists, Complementary Therapists, and non-medical staff like ACPs.
Rainbows Hospice operates 24/7 to support families, with shifts to ensure continuous care.

You will provide exceptional step-down and long-term ventilation care, ensuring high standards in a family-centered environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Empowering families for home care readiness.
* Leading nursing and care teams in daily care activities.
* Assessing and planning care for children with ventilation needs.
* Collaborating with hospital and community teams.
* Engaging with multidisciplinary professionals.

Requirements
Qualified RSCN/RN (Child Branch)/RNLD/RGN with post-registration experience working with children or adults with ventilation needs. Experience in teaching clinical skills to staff or parents is essential.
Excellent communication and clinical care standards are required. Additional details are in the Person Specification.
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check and pre-employment screening.
