Clinical Negligence Solicitor - Bristol

Hybrid Working

This role offers hybrid working and you can work from either our Bristol or Cardiff office. You will be required to work 2 days a week in the office and 3 days a week from home. You would therefore need the infrastructure in place to work from home and will be provided with a company laptop.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of complex and technical clinical negligence claims;
• Supervise a team of excellent and motivated case handlers under the direction of the group leader and manage those you supervise;
• Undertake case planning and training of the team by utilising weekly risk assessment meetings and weekly individual 1-2-1 supervision sessions and ad hoc supervision/advice;

Skills / Competencies

This is a busy and demanding role and a high standard of performance is expected, with the ability to deal sensitively with clients and professionally with experts. As a team player you will be confident with clinical negligence law and procedures and be able to use your own initiative.

You will have proven experience of and enthusiasm for supervising and guiding a team. Supporting, coaching, encouraging and guiding your team will be a key aspect of this role. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and motivated to work within clinical negligence. You need to have good organisational skills and a pragmatic approach to managing claims, as well as proficient IT, communication and leadership skills.

You will have good working knowledge of CPR and the law relating to clinical negligence and it would be an advantage to have experience in dealing with Legal Expense Insurance, publicly funded and conditional fee agreement arrangements. A strong track record of litigation experience is essential.
