Job Description:
Main duties and responsibilities
The successful applicant will work collaboratively and independently within a staff team to lead, plan, organise, and deliver teaching and assessment of students training to teach maths in primary schools. They will engage with a broad range of teaching activities within the Schools of Law and Education, drawing on relevant expertise and professional knowledge. The role involves working with school partners to support and develop trainees’ professional, subject, and curriculum knowledge through centre (UH) and school-based training, managing their own work efficiently. Travel to schools to support and enhance the quality of school-based mentoring will be required. The applicant will actively engage in scholarship and/or research, supported by the University and the School of Education.
Skills and experience required
Proven experience of teaching in UK primary schools and/or relevant experience in the Initial Teacher Education sector. Demonstrated breadth and depth of subject, pedagogical, and professional knowledge in Primary education, with a track record of positively impacting pupils’ learning and progress. Ability to visit schools and observe student-teachers’ practice.
Qualifications required
UK Qualified Teacher Status, a Postgraduate degree in a relevant field or significant experience, or an appropriate first degree qualification.
