Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEMH) Location: Oldham, United Kingdom Position Type: Full-time, Long-term, temporary Salary: £95-100 per day Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work closely with students, supporting their learning and personal development. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored assistance to students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. Responsibilities will include: • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students during lessons and activities. • Assisting in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies. • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being among students. • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. • Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as required. • Supporting students with personal care and other practical tasks as necessary. Requirements: • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour is essential. • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field are desirable. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/guardians. • Patience, empathy, and resilience in working with students facing complex emotional and behavioural challenges. • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to meet the diverse needs of students. • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the school community
