Job Description
We are recruiting a Financial Reporting & Governance Manager to join a well‑established organisation, reporting directly to the Finance Director. This is a pivotal role with ownership of financial reporting, statutory compliance, and technical accounting across the business and its wider group.
You will act as the subject‑matter expert for financial reporting and governance, supporting senior stakeholders and driving best practice across the finance function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting at group level, including IFRS reporting
* Managing statutory accounts, audits, and external financial submissions
* Overseeing tax compliance across multiple areas (e.g. Corporation Tax, VAT and other sector‑specific duties)
* Preparing tax estimates, returns, and liaising with external advisors
* Delivering robust KPI reporting and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
* Managing R&D tax credit claims and capital allowance submissions
* Supporting business activity such as acquisitions, including completion accounts
* Maintaining the tax risk register and ensuring strong governance frameworks
* Completing required regulatory and statistical submissions
* Contributing to wider finance projects, process improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives
About you
You’ll be a confident, technically capable finance professional with a strong governance mindset:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) – essential
* Proven experience in financial reporting, tax, and statutory compliance
* Strong working knowledge of IFRS and technical accounting standards
* Detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable working cross‑functionally
* Confident communicator with a positive, hands‑on leadership style
