Social Care Worker - Fermanagh (Male Applications Preferred due to a Genuine Occupational Requirement)

Job Title: Social Care Worker

Department: Support & Care - Domiciliary Care

Salary Scale: £31,050 per annum (rising to £35,300 with service)

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Fermanagh

Hours of Work: 39 per week

Shift Pattern: Covering a 24 hour, 7 days per week Rotational Shift Roster

You are joining Trinity Support & Care Services, an innovative organisation, providing quality assured, safe, and person‑centred residential care and outreach support services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities.


Main responsibilities

The following duties are typical for this role. The post holder may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs, changing business practices and/or to meet the needs/changing needs of the Service User.

* Provide assistance to Service Users in all aspects of personal care.
* Ensure the Human Rights of each Service User is exercised with integrity and respect.
* Ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times for both Service Users, work colleagues and visitors to the unit/house.
* Encourage each Service User to live in accordance with their own wishes and preferences, promoting individuality through new opportunities and skill development.
* Provide correct and relevant information to enable informed decision‑making at all levels.
* Support Service Users in the least restrictive manner and encourage positive risk‑taking.
* Deliver support in a low‑arousal, non‑aversive manner.
* Achieve personal outcomes with clear goals, steps and timeframes.
* Prioritise supports and meet key commitments.
* Follow evidence‑based practices.
* Support Service Users to live life to their fullest potential and remain socially valued members of their communities.
* Work positively and professionally with staff and the wider organisation.


Regulation

* Maintain high hygiene and cleanliness of the residential setting and comply with safe food practices and infection control.
* Keep folders, written reports, risk assessments and complete daily paperwork.
* Follow medication administration procedures, applying the 10 rights of medication administration and proper documentation.
* Adhere to policy and procedure for safeguarding Service Users’ medication and finances.
* Follow all policies, procedures, regulations (including the RQIA Framework), the Employee Handbook and working practices of the organisation.
* Participate in meetings, service‑user reviews and provide feedback to management and the multidisciplinary team.
* Attend and participate in all regulatory, mandatory and developmental training assigned by the organisation or line manager.
* Contribute effectively to the team dynamic and provide a high‑quality, professional service at all times.


Qualifications & Experience

* Third‑level qualification or equivalent in Social Care or a related discipline.
* Minimum of two years’ employment experience in a similar role (e.g. Day Services, Domiciliary Care, Residential Care, Learning Disability, Autism).
* Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour.
* Competence in Microsoft Word and Outlook (email, calendar management, meeting organisation).
* Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks and best practice (e.g. RQIA).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data sheet formulation.
* Working knowledge of intranet / SharePoint systems for information sharing and storage.


Other Requirements

Applicants must hold a full, current UK/ROI driving licence and have access to a car or other means of transport that allows them to carry out the duties of the post. For applicants with a disability covered by the Disability Discrimination Act, alternatives or exemptions may apply.
