Overview
Kingston Hospital NHS Trust is a busy, thriving District General Hospital with approximately 600 beds supporting over 320,000 people in the surrounding area. The hospital operates peripheral outpatient clinics, works closely with local general practitioner surgeries and health centres, and has a maternity service and cancer unit developed in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties
* Work alongside Consultants and the multidisciplinary team in developing and providing a strengthened and modernised respiratory service.
* Take part in Clinical research, with approval from the Local Research Ethics Committee.
* Participate in Clinical Governance activities of the Department of Respiratory Medicine and Diagnostic Services Clinical Management Group, including Clinical Audit and Clinical risk Management.
* Attend Multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.
* Collaborate with professional colleagues and local managers to ensure efficient running of the service and contribute to management with consultants.
* Support delivery of respiratory outpatient services and enable catch up of activity lost due to the pandemic.
* On-call responsibilities: a GIM weekend on-call rota of 1 in 13 weekends, with varying in-hospital and on-call from home periods as detailed by the department.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MRCP or equivalent
* CCT in General Medicine and Respiratory Medicine
* On GMC\'s Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT from the date of the interview
Desirable
* Level 1 Ultrasound Certified
Clinical Experience
* Essential: Current wide range of general and respiratory medical experience, including experience in pleural procedures
* Desirable: Sleep Medicine; Management of patients with Tuberculosis
Specific Additional Skills
* Essential: Experienced bronchoscopist; Knowledge of NHS Funding and Coding/Business Planning; Evidence of Quality Improvement using Audit and Clinical Outcomes
* Desirable: Evidence of service development
Management Skills
* Desirable: Attended management training course; Knowledge of finance/budgets
Experience in Training, Audit and Research
* Essential: Demonstrable commitment and ability to teach and train undergraduates and junior doctors; Experience of clinical audit and research
Personal Qualities
