Deputy Team Manager – Older Adults Mental Health

£48,205 to £57,988 per annum

About The Role
The team works closely with mental health inpatient wards, advanced Dementia and Frailty Services and social care neighbourhood teams, managing ongoing support and re‑ablement for people who live with mental health needs. You will support adults from the start of their journey, reviewing their goals and ensuring they achieve independence and opportunities. The role offers hybrid working, with an expectation of 2‑3 days per week in the office for collaborative team work and training.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and support across a team of professionals to deliver a high‑quality service with positive outcomes, enabling people to live healthily and independently.
* Support the development of individuals within the team.
* Provide expertise and professional knowledge to advise on complex cases in line with legislative and organisational standards.
* Act as an escalation point for complaints and other feedback from service users, fostering positive relationships.
* Implement effective approaches to integrated working with partners, communities and the voluntary sector to achieve successful outcomes for service users.
About You
* Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
* Strong leadership and behavioural skills with the ability to forge a highly performing and motivated team.
* Proven experience of developing individuals to meet professional standards and confidently deliver solutions for the community.
* Experience of leading change in a complex environment, ensuring best practice within financial constraints.
* Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with partners, agencies and the local community.
* The ability to make clear decisions, highlight and mitigate potential risks associated with intervention.
* Significant experience within an adult social care setting, ideally with previous management and mental health experience.
* Practice Educator, AMHP or BIA qualified.
* Evidence of continuing professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
This role involves travelling around Essex and beyond. A driving licence and vehicle (or equivalent mobility means) is essential.
