Castle Manufacturing is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Manufacturing Manager to join a well-established and ambitious engineering business based in North Yorkshire.This position offers the chance to play a key role within a busy machine shop environment, contributing directly to operational efficiency, production performance, and continued business growth.
This is an office-based position within the machine shop, responsible for coordinating production activities and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ordering materials and consumables from both existing and new suppliers
* Creating and allocating job cards
* Managing supplier progression and communication
* Identifying and implementing process improvements
* Production planning and manufacturing time estimation in collaboration with the Production Manager
* Arranging subcontract work during periods of overcapacity
* Managing external finishing processes
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong understanding of an engineering or manufacturing environment
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings with sound material knowledge
* Experience within a CNC machining environment is desirable
* Excellent IT skills
* Experience in inspection and quality management
