FTM core business is the supply of cranes, trailers and other truck mounted equipment for the timber industry however we have recently taken on repairs to tipper bodies therefore leading a opportunity has arisen for a skilled individual to join us in our busy workshop, previous knowledge and experience of body/coach building is required
The job role will include repairs to tipper bodies, making and fitting of catwalks and helping out with building and installing aspects of equipment supplied by FTM.
The successful candidate should have the following skills
Fabrication
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Welder. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various welding techniques, particularly TIG welding, and possess a solid understanding of fabrication processes. This role requires proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal work, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Duties
* Perform TIG welding and other welding processes to fabricate and assemble components according to specifications.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.
* Conduct fabrication tasks involving sheet metal to create high-quality products.
* Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accuracy in assembly and fabrication.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines while ensuring quality standards are met.
* Demonstrate mechanical knowledge by troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in TIG welding and general welding practices.
* Experience in MIG welding preffered but not essential
* Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand basic math for measurements and calculations.
* Experience in assembly work is advantageous.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
