We're recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rugby (CV22). This full-time role involves supporting a Year 4 pupil with autism who is working on a highly personalised curriculum at an Early Years level.
You'll be delivering consistent, nurturing 1:1 support focused on communication, engagement, and independence. A calm, creative and child-led approach is essential, with experience supporting non-traditional learning pathways and working at EYFS level within a primary school.
The Role:
* Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with ASD
* Deliver a tailored EYFS-level curriculum
* Use visuals, sensory tools, and communication strategies
* Create and maintain a consistent, low-arousal environment
* Focus on early learning goals - communication, interaction, independence
* Collaborate with the SENCO and external specialists
* Track progress through individualised learning plans
The Ideal Candidate:
* Level 2/3 TA qualification (or equivalent)
* Experience supporting children with autism and complex needs
* Familiarity with EYFS learning and developmental milestones
* Creative, patient and flexible in approach
* Skilled in using visuals, Makaton, or PECS (desirable)
* Able to work closely with families and outside agencies
