Job Description
Role/ Department: This is an opportunity for a qualified accounting candidate to join the largest department within the largest fund administrator in Guernsey, providing a career path in Private Equity. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements of entities administered by the Private Equity department efficiently and accurately, adhering to high standards. It also includes oversight of outsourced client accounting functions, liaising with other Northern Trust offices to maintain service quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure accurate complex fund valuations, distributions, calls/drawdowns, and other calculations.
* Prepare financial reports conforming to professional and regulatory standards, including the review and maintenance of client general ledgers, trial balances, quarterly accounts, and capital statements for private equity funds. Prepare annual accounts for Funds, GP’s, LPs, and SPVs.
* Prepare FRR and LRR calculations.
* Liaise with Compliance and file breach notifications if necessary.
* Research and develop materials for new products or client opportunities.
* Collaborate with management to deliver professional and efficient client service.
* Innovate to add value and support team progress.
* Train administration staff on accounting issues to ensure proper transaction booking with minimal supervision.
* Maintain up-to-date procedures and ensure adherence daily.
* Propose and coordinate system and process improvements with proper documentation.
Skills and Qualifications
* Accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA preferred) with knowledge of regulatory issues, bookkeeping, and technical accounting (UK GAAP or IFRS).
* Ability to stay current with legal and compliance changes.
* Confident communication with clients and stakeholders.
* Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Investran is advantageous.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Leadership and organizational skills for prioritization and feedback.
* Ability to manage deadlines and escalate issues when needed.
* Team player, self-starter, flexible, capable of working under pressure independently.
