Head of Operations – Conveyancing Department

We’re working in partnership with a well-established and respected North West law firm to recruit an experienced Head of Operations for their busy Conveyancing department at their Bolton head office. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a senior conveyancing professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has proven team management experience.
The Role:
This is a dual role requiring both strategic leadership and hands-on conveyancing work, offering an excellent blend of operational oversight and client-facing legal work.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing and leading the day-to-day operations of a busy conveyancing team.
* Running your own residential conveyancing caseload autonomously.
* Supporting and resourcing team members to maintain high-quality service delivery.
* Ensuring efficient progression of client matters and effective client communication.
* Holding regular team meetings, setting goals, and tracking departmental performance.
* Handling non-technical client care issues and resolving concerns.
* Managing holiday cover and authorising leave to ensure consistent service levels.
* Building and maintaining strong working relationships with external stakeholders.
Requirements:
We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
* Strong experience in residential purchase, sale, and lease transactions.
* Previous experience in a leadership or operational management role within a legal setting.
* Outstanding organisational and time-management skills.
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Confident communication skills and the ability to lead by example.
* Proficiency in using conveyancing case management systems and general IT tools.
