The shift pattern for this post are:
Post 1: 14.8 hours per week (Monday 9am-4:48pm & Friday 9am-5pm)
Post 2: 19.44 hours per week (Monday-Friday 7am-11am)
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
An exciting opportunity exists within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be part of the portering Team and play a role in ensuring the provision of key support services at this unique and challenging time.
The post holder is a member of the portering service available 24/7 to the patients, staff and visitors of the Hospital. The post holder will be trained to deal with all regular and ad-hoc portering duties, and respond to emergency situations. To ensure that hospital, ward entrances, exits are kept clean at all times and patient movement is being managed effectively. Working as part of the portering team, the post holder is part of the team that offer services including waste, linen, mail room, receipt of deliveries and transportation of goods to the required services/departments, ensuring the seamless delivery of all services, contributing to the overall provision of quality patient care.
This role will work closely with other Facilities’ services, both locally and corporately to support service delivery. The preferred candidate will have knowledge and practical operational experience on a wide range of non clinical administrative and support service functions.
You must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, be self-motivated, and have a can do, problem solving attitude and you must have the ability to respond to unpredictable/emergency situations although you will receive any essential training required to carry out this role during your induction.
