Beckenham Rugby Club is at the heart of our community, providing a friendly and lively atmosphere for players, supporters, and families. With a brand-new modern kitchen and a busy programme of rugby and social events, we are looking for a Catering Co-ordinator and Cook to manage and deliver our catering offer.
The Role
We are seeking an organised and proactive Catering Co-ordinator and Cook to oversee our kitchen operations and provide great food for our members, players, and guests.
The role includes:
* Preparing and serving post-match meals for players on Saturdays and Sundays.
* Providing hot and cold food for supporters across matchdays.
* Organising and delivering sit-down lunches or buffets before home matches.
* Planning, staffing, and ordering supplies for the kitchen.
You'll work closely with the club chef to deliver player meals and menus, while reporting to the Director of Operations for staff rotas and purchasing.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and deliver weekend catering during the rugby season (Sept–May).
* Plan menus with the chef and order ingredients in time for each weekend.
* Roster kitchen staff and ensure smooth matchday service.
* Maintain stock control, food hygiene standards, and kitchen cleanliness.
* Support ad hoc catering for private events such as funeral teas and parties.
Hours of Work
Approx. 20 hours per week in season (September–May):
* Saturday: 12.30pm – 6.30pm (earlier start on pre-match lunch days)
* Sunday: 8.30am – 4.30pm
* Planning & coordinating: ~2 hours midweek
* Additional hours may be required for one-off events.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
* Experience in a commercial/professional catering environment.
* A Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate (with opportunity to progress to Level 3).
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage staff rotas and kitchen operations.
* A proactive and adaptable approach.
Knowledge of staffing management would be an advantage, but training and support will be provided.
