It is one of the oldest Christian structures in England and forms part of a World Heritage Site.
Canterbury Cathedral is seeking a proactive and skilled Project Officer to play a key role in delivering our Strategic Plan. This is an exciting opportunity to shape impactful projects, strengthen project management practice across the organisation, and support our newly established Delivery Board.
About the Role
As Project Officer, you will:
* Develop clear, compelling and fully costed business cases for internal and external funding.
* Lead organisation wide project monitoring, reporting and performance tracking.
* Support the Delivery Board through meeting coordination, preparing papers, tracking actions and advising members.
* Help update and deliver the Cathedrals Five Year Delivery Plan.
* Embed project management standards, tools and methodologies across teams.
* Coach colleagues to strengthen project delivery capability.
* Ensure strong governance, documentation and compliance across all projects.
About You
Were looking a Project Officer with:
* Significant experience in project management and developing business cases.
* Strong analytical, organisational and planning skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
* Confidence managing multiple complex projects and working to tight deadlines.
* Good commercial awareness and strong financial skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and project related information systems.
Desirable knowledge and skills:
* Knowledge of project management methodologies.
* Understanding of strategic planning and organisational performance management.
* Creative thinker able to design innovative and compelling business cases.
* Business management/financial/project management qualification.
* Significant experience of working in a similar role.
* Knowledge of heritage craft skills or working for complex diverse organisations.
* Ability to enthuse your colleagues with your passion for strong project management and delivery.
