Retail Store Manager, Issey Miyake Overview Issey Miyake is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Store Manager to inspire our sales team and run store operations with precision. Key Responsibilities Sales & Performance Management Lead by example on the sales floor, demonstrating a deep knowledge of all aspects of Issey Miyake brands. Implement and champion our personal approach to clienteling, aimed at fostering long-term relationships with our diverse customer base. Achieve and surpass store sales goals through effective team motivation and coaching. Build excellent internal relationships with other departments and leverage these to create initiatives to improve store performance. Report on store performance to the management team, combining an understanding of sales figures with your insights from the shop floor. Team Leadership & Development Assist in recruiting and training a high-performing team of Sales Associates who embody the brand's aesthetic and service standards. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide consistent, constructive coaching to ensure staff excellence in product knowledge and customer service. Manage the rota and all HR-related administrative duties for the store team ensuring compliance with Company policies and Store procedures. Operations & Brand Advocacy Ensure the physical appearance of the store and staff are maintained to the highest luxury standards. Ensure that store back-of-house stock and administrative operations run like clockwork. Act as our ambassador, representing Issey Miyake with integrity and resolving customer issues swiftly and professionally. Qualifications Minimum of 3–5 years of retail management experience in a luxury, high-end, or design-focused retail environment. Demonstrated experience in luxury retail buying and merchandising. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and managing store operations. Exceptional leadership, team-building, and communication skills. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in retail POS systems, inventory control, and Excel for planning/reporting. A genuine passion for and deep understanding of the Issey Miyake design philosophy, including innovative textiles, architectural silhouettes, and contemporary art.
