Pastoral Support Officer Required From September 2025
Permanent, part time – 35 hours per week
Term time only for 39 weeks per year; 38 weeks plus 5 INSET days
Salary: Grade 5 (SCP 6-9) £25,183 - £26,409 per annum pro rata
Actual Salary: £20,581.29 - £21,583.26 per annum
Joining our brand-new school, and Staffordshire’s first all-through school, opening initially with 150 Year 7 students in September 2025, our Pastoral Support Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting students to realise their potential, both inside and outside of school.
We’re looking for a talented individual to help foster a positive and supportive learning environment for our young people. Your experience of pastoral care will place our students’ welfare at the heart of our school. With our founding cohort of students joining us in September, this is a vital, high-profile role, and the post-holder will be required to work with colleagues across the school as well as from external agencies.
The right candidate will have immediate opportunities to work directly with students and parents in addressing matters relating to safeguarding, behaviour, mental health, and the provision of special educational needs. The successful candidate does not need to be an expert in these fields, but they do need to demonstrate an interest in learning about them alongside a determination to make sure every young person has access to provision which meets their unique needs.
Excellent standards of organisation and prioritisation will be required, as well as an ability to work in a calm and orderly manner at all times. Often this work will require resilience and adaptability as the post-holder is required to respond to the immediate needs of a young person, their family or the colleagues working to support them.
