Job Opportunity: Gear Cutter / Gear Grinder
Location: Near Burton Upon Trent
Hours: 40 per week - Mon to Thurs 7:00-16:00, Fri 7:00-13:00
Contract: 3 months, likely to be extended
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Gear Grinder to join our team. The role involves cutting gear teeth to drawing specifications and ensuring all components meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and control gear cutting and grinding machines to produce precision components.
Use a range of measuring equipment to inspect and verify parts.
Read and interpret instructions, drawings, and procedures accurately.
Perform inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and products.
Troubleshoot issues and analyze information to find effective solutions.
Maintain clear, professional communication at all times.
Ensure a safe working environment and comply with Health, Safety & Environmental regulations.
Mentor trainees or apprentices when applicable.
Support 5S activities, report near misses, and ensure proper disposal of waste.
Undertake additional tasks within your skills and abilities as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Recognised engineering qualification preferred.
Mechanically minded with strong practical skills and problem-solving ability.
Experience with Reishauer, Niles, and Pfauter gear grinding machines is ideal- but we wil consider all machinist background.
