Hays Civil Engineering are recruiting for an experienced Civil Setting Out Engineer (R.E) to support works on a National Grid infrastructure project. This role requires strong technical capability, familiarity with NG standards, and the ability to support the civil team across both engineering and documentation activities.
Your New Role
You will be responsible for accurate setting out of line and level using a range of surveying equipment, maintaining civil documentation, and supporting constructability reviews. You will collaborate closely with the civil site team, raise technical queries, assist with procurement processes, and produce accurate As‑Built drawings.
Essential
Proven ability to set out line and level with various surveying instruments
NG Persons certification
Previous experience on a National Grid site
Strong understanding of National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS)
Ability to act as Document Controller for all civil drawings
Experience supporting constructability reviews and raising TQs
Ability to obtain quotes, raise orders, and complete As‑Built drawings
